G-004 Imperial German 1/2 L., 1st Saxon King’s Hussar Regiment porcelain stein. Colorful scenes of hussars saying good bye to sweetheart, charging with lances, military flags/motifs, etc. are highlighted with some handpainting and applied gilt. Named to “Hussar Schmutzler” and dated “1898 – 1901”. Roster of names of members on both sides of handle. Lithophane scene in bottom. Pewter mounted hussar with lance mounted on the tiered lid. Crowned lion on thumb lift. 11 1/8″ tall. Decorative. II+
